CatTalk Cover Contest

This is your chance to have your cat selected as the next Cat Talk Almanac’s Cover Cat!

Eligibility: All Cat Talk Almanac subscribers  are eligible to submit one entry and professional color photograph per subscription for the Cat Talk Almanac’s April issue.

Cat Talk Almanac reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not conform to the stated rules and guidelines. Cat Talk Almanac reserves the right at their sole discretion to reject any photographs which are deemed unacceptable or incompatible with the publication. By submitting a photograph to the competition all entrants agree to the photograph being displayed on the cover, together with the entrant’s name and name of the cat along with its title, breed, sex, date of birth, color, breeder, owner, and the name of the photographer. Selection for the October issue will be conducted in a random drawing of entries by the Cat Talk Almanac editorial staff the week of August 22, 2011. The winner will be notified by e-mail and/or phone no later than August 24th, 2011. Details of the December cover contest are TBD.

Submission Deadline: Entries must be submitted online or by U.S. mail in accordance with the instructions below. All entries for the October contest must be received by 5 p.m. EST on August 19, 2011.

Photographic proofs will be accepted for entry purposes.  Only color photos will be accepted. A vertical orientation is required.

By submitting an entry participants will be deemed to have fully read these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.

Cats owned or bred by Cat Talk staff or their immediate family, employees of CFA or their immediate family, or current CFA board members or their immediate family are not eligible for the cover of Cat Talk.

Photo Requirements: While photographic proofs will be accepted for entry purposes, the participant whose cat is selected as the Cover Cat will be required to provide the submitted image in a high-resolution, .jpg or .tif file format of at least 300 dpi and an image size of at least 8 1/2 X 11 (2550 X 3300 pixels) and a file size of at least 2MB.  If selected, it is the sole responsibility of the subscriber to request the appropriate photo from the photographer. If the submitted photo does not meet our requirements, the participant will have one opportunity to supply areplacement photo. 

Cat Talk Almanac will arrange copyright clearance with the photographer and make reasonable payment to the photographer for the use of the image. It is the responsibility of the participant to pay all other photographer fees.  If copyright clearance or an acceptable fee cannot be negotiated, an alternate entry will be selected.

Copyright By submitting any such photograph each entrant/prize winner warrants to the Cat Talk Almanac Editorial Staff that it does not infringe the privacy, copyright or other intellectual property rights of any third party.

Liability Cat Talk Almanac Editorial Staff will not be liable for technical, hardware or software failures of any kind or lost or unavailable network connections which may limit or prohibit an eligible entrant's ability to participate in the competition.
