"This georgeous Persian is an excellent example of the breed," said Donald J. Williams, president of the Cat Fanciers' Association. "And while we had numerous beautiful cats -- from Maine Coons to Siamese -- this Persian is the closest representation of its breed standard of any of the felines at our international show this year."

The CFA International Cat Show -- the Rolls Royce of cats shows and the world's largest -- was held in Kansas City from November 17 through November 19. The Best of the Best was chosen Sunday afternoon from a field of the show's top six Longhair and Shorthair felines in three categories - Kitten, Championship and Premiership.

The six finalists were:

The show was the largest in the 13-year history of international competition through the CFA. Felines from around the world -- from as far away as Austrlia and Japan -- competed for the chance to be named Best in Show, Best of Breed, or Best Kitten, Championship or Premiership Feline.
