The season's competition has passed, and the competitors have been narrowed down to a winner
in each of the categories of Kitten, Championship, Premiership, and Agility.
So, here is your chance to meet the finalists and decide which one will be your
Cat Idol!
KITTEN
GC,
RW Tropikoons Talladega of Nascat
Maine Coon
Owner: Donna Hinton
Hello Racing Fans! I'm "Talla" from the tropics of the deep south…birthplace of Stock Cat Racing. Charlotte, Darlington, Daytona, Martinsville and Talladega (my proper name) are a few of the great speedways…Home of the good ol'e boys, but I'm a girl. A rarity in the racing world. I'm tough, bold, with fast reflexes and hungry for this win.
I started off my racing career in the go-kits division. I quickly qualified to the Nascat Busch Cat Championship series, when my bushy tail finally came in. Since then, I've been purring up the rings in Texas.
Now I'm ready for the "Centennial Celebration Challenge" against the big Toms. We have a very fast, paced field of CFA's finest felines.
I'm speeding my way towards the annual in Reno. Please Vote for me as the "Best CFA Cat Idol" I can almost feel the victory…. the checkered flag waving….the r-r-roar of the felines, as I cross the sisal rope line. There will be paw-a-graphs for all.
Best of luck to all my other competitors.
Talla - Kitten #3, The Intimidator

CHAMPIONSHIP
GC,
BW, NW Kinross James McGlynn
Scottish Fold - LH Division
Owners: Bruce & Ev Russell
My name is James McGlynn, or Jimmy to all my friends. My dad named me after another exhibitor he met when he was showing my half brother in Premiership last year. I guess that Jim McGlynn is my godfather now. He even has the same hair color as me. Jim said I was doing so well because of my name but I think it's because of my good looks. What do you think? You might wonder where my ears are but I assure you that I do have ears. They are just tightly folded to my head. It's not that I'm angry or upset. My ears are down because I am a Scottish Fold and that's the thing that makes me so unique. It also makes me look a bit like an owl because my large round eyes stand out so much. One judge says that Scottish Folds are just owls in a cat suit. I'm a longhaired Scottish Fold but some of my brothers and sisters are shorthairs and some of them even have straight ears.
My dad and I were joined at the hip travelling all over Regions 1, 4, 6 and 7 this year. We drove everywhere we went because I made it pretty clear to my dad that I wouldn't be a good candidate for flying. Flying in cabin just wouldn't allow me to sing as much as I like to do. I sang quite a bit in the car and I would even sing in the hotel when I wasn't cuddled up to my dad. I'm told that I have very good range for a cat and I know a lot of songs. If I am going to be a cat idol, I better have a wide selection of songs to sing. After all, good looks will only get you so far. I have an added advantage though. My father's name was Elvis so I guess it's in the genes.
It's great that I was able to go to all these shows the very year that CFA celebrated its hundred-year anniversary. I especially liked traveling around in the Great Lakes Region because we have so many friends here and it's a lot closer to home too. That's where all my girlfriends are so I don't want to be away too long. No matter where we went though, we always had a good time. We made a lot of new friends and we went to a lot of places my dad has never been. The further into the season it got, the more my dad's epointitis flared up though. Talk about obsessing. All those fancy shampoos and conditioners, blow drying combing and primping is enough to make any guy go bonk'ears. People say that cat shows are just beauty pageants. Who do they think they're kidding? It's a tough job being at the top but somebody's got to do it.
Being CFA's Cat Idol really doesn't matter to me but my mom and dad sure would like you to vote for me. I bet you can't help smiling when you see me, right? That's because Scottish Folds make people smile and when you smile, you are healthier; so, voting for me would be a healthy choice. Now you can see that I am the most handsome and the most smile-producing cat running for the CFA Cat Idol. Vote for me! After all, you must admit, I am ear-resistable.

PREMIERSHIP
GP,
RW Tamarakatz Crown Prince
Somali
Owners: Tammy & Rob Roark
Hi! My name is GP, RW Tamarakatz Crown Prince, but my friends call me
"Buster". New Year's Eve 2004 I was born, the only red boy in a litter
of four.
I knew right from the beginning that I was special :-). I was a
rather gawky looking kitten, so my human "mom", Tammy, neutered me (!!)
and started looking for a wonderful family for me to live with. But I had
other ideas. I LOVED my Tammy-mom and had no intention of going to a new
home. When visitors came to choose a new kitten, I'd look bored and
uninterested. I'd loiter on the fringes of the group - and so no one ever
picked me. Wasn't that brilliant of me? ;-). You see, I knew that red
Somalis were Tammy-mom's absolute FAVORITE, so my plan was to always
remain with her. At bedtime, I would tuck my head up under her chin and
purr and purr. I was irresistible. Eventually, Tammy-mom just stopped
telling prospective new homes that I was available - and I knew she was
mine forever! When I was 8 months old, Tammy-mom took me to my first cat
show. Zowie! Did I have a wonderful time! I had fun showing off for
judges and the spectators. I was hooked! A show cat was born! Over the
next several months, I grew into a stunning Somali, and began to do better
and better at the shows. It was so cool traveling to all of the show
halls, watching the people, playing with the judge's toys, and mostly
spending time in the hotel rooms, where I had Tammy-mom all to myself. I
would give her kisses and nose nibbles on the way back from every ring,
just to let her know how much I loved doing this with her. I might add
that the spectators at the show were delighted with my antics. The show
season is over now and I did REAL GOOD. I am so proud of myself :-))).
Now, I am hoping you will vote for me so I can give Tammy-mom one more
special memory... After all, I have to live up to my official name of
Crown Prince!

AGILITY
GC
Azima’s Bi-Product of Silverlock
Turkish Angora
Owners: B. Iris Tanner/Margaret Shortlidge
Hi, there, I'm "Bippy," as in "You bet your sweet. . ." (and my Mom Iris
says if you are old enough to remember that phrase, you are her kind of
person!) As you can see, I like to throw myself totally into any activity
I undertake, whether it is posing for a pet supply catalogue (which is
what I am doing in this picture), chasing that birdie toy around the
agility ring, leaping onto the shoulders of unsuspecting guests, wreaking
sheer havoc among the decorations of any ring I am shown in, or doing my
best to make little Biplets with any cooperative lady I can lay my paws
on. Lately, this last activity has occupied my mind to the exclusion of
anything else so I haven't had much time for agility trials. And I
actually don't care whether you vote for me or not as long as you can keep
those ladies coming and enable me to make my small contribution to the
next generation of Agility cats. However, my breeder, Barbara Azan, my
"birth mother" Meg Shortlidge, my official trainer, Jessica Shortlidge,
and my current slave B. Iris Tanner would probably be pleased with any
show of support you care to offer me (and it might help get me more
girls)! So, how about it?
Love, purrs and happy feet from the Bipster
