This November, Terry Jenkins-Brady and Harold M. Konstantelos invite you to
remember the true meaning of Christmas with THREE WISE CATS, a lovely fable
paralleling the Biblical tale of the Three Wise Men.
The wise old cat Ptolemy was alongside his master when a star of unusual brightness was
seen in the heavens, indicating an event of earth-shaking importance, and leading to a
great quest. Ptolemy's master is frail and cannot make the journey, but there are three
young cats that can:
Abishag, a sturdy reliable black cat with orange eyes who has never shirked her duty.
Kezia, a beautiful young tabby with golden eyes, delicate and a bit vain, but of good
heart. And Ira, taller and stronger than the others, like a black Siamese, with a triangular
face, golden eyes and a temper.
Ptolemy sends them on their way with a heavy heart, because they have little experience
of the world, but he has read a prophecy: "The three shall find the one." What Ptolemy
cannot know is that their plans have been overheard, and a fourth traveler goes along with
the cats: the rat Asmodeus, who can hear of no glorious thing without wanting to spoil it.
Together the unlikely band will cover many miles, and have dangerous adventures. And
finally they will come to a far-away land, where the star bends close to the earth over a
humble stable.
This inspirational tale of three cats' journey to witness the first Christmas will appeal to
cat lovers, Christmas lovers, and everyday people of good will.
