    CFA Requirements to become a Clerk

    Those individuals who are interested in helping a judging ring run efficiently are encouraged to work their way through the levels of the CFA Clerking Program. To become a licensed clerk in CFA, an individual must complete four general requirements:

    1. attend a sanctioned CFA Clerking School;
    2. complete a prescribed number of appropriate on-the-job training assignments for which satisfactory evaluations are received;
    3. pay the $10 annual Clerking Program service fee; and
    4. take and pass the current biennial clerking examination.

    The detailed requirements for becoming a clerk are listed in the current Clerking Program Advancement Rules.

    These rules vary with respect to the amount of experience required in the continental US, Hawaii, Japan, and the International Division.
